Want a rapter... Should I wait?

I more disk space, and instead of buying a 400gb storage drive i plan on just getting a rapter and moving over to that as boot drive (need format anyway)

I heard rumers of a 148gb sata II rapter comign out before xmas however; and if thats true I either want that drive; or want to wait till that drive comes out and pricse of 74gb fall to order.

Am i hesitating needlessly?
 
I don't think the new raptors will come out in 2 months.

raptors have been out for a long time. And prices are at an all time low low low. It sounds likely, but if your mobo dosen't support SATA2 don't bother.
 
Usually we hear about new hard drives a few months before they actually come out for sale and I have not heard anything official from WD about newer Raptors. I would go ahead and get the 74g model now rather than wait.
 
just placed order via newegg; new ups shipping was cheap so what the hey i put it on...

20 dollar mir + 5 dollar off made me bite for 144 shipped; not **too** much of a hit, only 2 dollars per gb hehe
 
Absolutely.

Raptor was the best investment to speed up regular windows / apps / loading times.

Snappy is the good word !
