What the hell was I thinking when I decided to cheat myself out of a good PSU to buy other things. Bought a Rosewill 500W... it handled everything well at stock levels. However when it came to overclocking, that things bailed on me. Random restarts 3 times a day and restarts under prolonged strenuous gameplay. The 12V fluctuated from 12.03 to 11.71 under stress. I opened it up today since I recieved my new Powerstream 470W. That Rosewill had a thin clear plastic sheet covering HALF the fan. The heatsinks were as diesel as a daisy, and only 3/4 of the space was occupied with transistors/capacitors and whatnots.
The quality PSU stood up to hours of stress with no hiccups. The voltage now fluctuates from 12.03 to 11.97 and the Powerstream has enormous heatsinks along with minimal noise. I learned my lesson the hard way. Also, don't buy into newegg's happy customer ratings, they have you believe a product is better than it actually is
