Wake on Lan

I'm trying to set my PC up to do wake on lan but its obviously getting touched by something on my network. If I set to magic pattern then it stays happily asleep, but if I allow Pattern match the computer sleeps then either immediately wakes (recently) or waits for 5 or 10 minutes before waking.....

Thing I'm trying to work out is how can I tell what is sending info to it? I've tried this with everything except the network router on and it still wakes so I suspect its the router but there don't appear to be any options to turn this off!

Anyone got any suggestions for tools etc to debug this?
 
What do you mean it is being touched? What is happening? What is Magic Pattern? You make no sense.

I use Magic Packet Utility by AMD. I put in the MAC address and the computer wakes up. Since you are using MAC addresses be sure that you are on the same LAN/network.
 
Ah wrote it wrong I meant Pattern matching but had to deal with a row inbetween....!

Magic pattern requires a special packet to get sent to the computer, I'm after using the Pattern match that should allow the computer to come on automatically if something tries to attach to it..... or so I believe.

I want to use this so when my Xbox tries to access the computer it switches it on first.....
