just about everytime i hit the back button, it hangs for 2-3seconds. the bottom left of the mozilla browser says "waiting for partner.googleadservices.com" Makes it difficult to move though the forums quickly. Anyone else having this issue?

Cleared the cache, flushdns same thing. It has been this way for a week now. Not sure if it is part of an on going problem or if partner.googleadservices.com is just slow to respond (pings at 95ms), or something is wrong with my machine.

You are the only one to complain of this. We did a quick survey of our subscribed off topic forum members and got 36 replies that were all either flat but most were positive. I would say if this is happening when you are reloading a page only, it is a browser issue.

You do not mention the exact browswer and version you are using. If you do, we will see how it works for us.

Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.14. Did a complete uninstall / reinstall and same issue. Since no one else has mentioned the issue, i am thinking it is something wrong on my computer. scanned with AVG, spybot, & adaware, nothing found. Thanks for the help. might be time for a reformat.

FF 2.0.0.14 works fine for me. Sorry for not being any help.

I get the same hang occasionally on FF3. It isn't every time I visit, and seems to actually be based on browser session. I believe it is a FF issue. Hope that helps somewhat.

I landed up putting an entry in the hosts file to block it. maybe the next firefox update will fix it or if I get sometime I will try a complete xp reinstall. thanks for the help.

(23) Any discussion of AD BLOCKING software or instruction for using ad blocking regarding this forum or any other discussion in general of attempting to block advertisement will result in a no questions asked permanent ban on your account. This is not done lightly, rather deliberately to deny access to those who choose to utilize this forum, but not support our sponsors. It takes money to finance the cost of bandwidth, especially a forum of this size and if you don't care enough to support us through our advertisers, then we don't need your business. This will be the only warning with no discussion.

Don't use broken beta software and make us have to pay for your choices.

Well, if the idiot didn't mention blocking anything, he'd have his answer, which I figured out myself.

Yes, Kyle, I've been having the same issue, but it's NOT caused by the [H] nor its ad sponsors. The problem is the new AVG 8.0. It installs a plugin called "AVG Safe Search". This causes the hitches and pauses, and, quite frankly, is not necessary for browsing.

Simply disabling the plugin makes everything nice and fast again.

I had not noticed that plug-in. I just disabled it, and I will see if my experience changes. Thank you.

Just for good measure, I re-enabled it, and, when loading up www.hardocp.com, it causes to page rendering to slow DRASTICALLY. I basically can't scroll up and down the page until it finishes loading every single ad and the entire page itself, whereas with it disabled, the page loads about twice as fast, ads and all.

It's definitely that AVG Safe Search plugin.

I have seen a speed increase, but I still get the hangup the OP mentioned on occasion. It almost HAS to be a FF add-on, but I still haven't had time to check any (baby coming )
