I'm pretty happy with my current system (refer to sig), and figure the next video card I will purchase will have to have the newest, top-of-the-line technology, even if it means spending $700. This would be along with a whole new system, uncluding CPU, Memory, Case, etc.

So, I'm wondering, when is DirectX10 likely to come out? Please don't flame as I don't know how long each DirectX version lasts.

Thanks in advance for any help/speculation. ;)
 
DX10 will be released next year (assuming Vista isn't delayed), and I'd be surprised if the G80/R600 line of cards did not support the new, neat features that DX10 will bring.
