I do... clearly states so on the actual proc. But Windows XP only sees it as a 2500+. I built a new computer and got it up and running without much of a problem. I went into Control Panel -> System and it says AMD Athlon XP 2500+. Is there a BIOS setting I am missing or can change or did newegg just screw up? I took it out and re-seated it, but if that was the problem, it wouldn't see any proc at all.

My specs:
DFI Lan Party NFII Ultra B
AMD Athlon XP 3200+
1GB Mushkin (sees that fine)

Well 3200+ is 11x200 and 2500+ is 11x166. Try to set the FSB to 200MHz....

Go into your BIOS upon startup and look at the FSB. With a 3200+ it should say 200mhz. But because it isn't showing as 3200+ and it is showing as a 2500+, it is probably running at a FSB of 166mhz.

Once you check what your Front Side bus (FSB) is, post back and tell what it is.

Good Luck

Where did you get the processor?

your motherboard is defaulting to a 166mhz front side bus.

Go into your BIOS, and look for the screen that shows your clock frequencies..

change your FSB to 200 (multiplier should already be 11), save and reboot. should read as 3200 now.

and hopefully, you didn't get a re-badged xp2500 chip that someone sold as a 3200. I've never worked with an actual 3200, so I don't know if its supposed to default at 200FSB or not.

Yep, FSB is set at 200. That was the first thing I checked... forgot to post that. Sorry. Bought everything at newegg.com

HOT DAMN! You guys rule! It was my multiplyer! Thanks guys! Now if I can only install my SATA drive... I'm working on it.... =D Thanks again
