I prefer to have my taskbar on autohide to free up a little extra space for viewing whatever it is I am looking at. About 3 weeks ago, I noticed that when I moved the mouse to the bottom of the screen, the animation to show the taskbar was very fast, almost like it appears and disappears rather than deliberately move up and down.
If I go and adjust the visual preferences, i.e. select "let windows choose for me," the reselect "best performance," then apply the change, I get the normal taskbar hide/show animation, but after a reboot, it goes back to the quick flashing even though my preferences remain unchanged. This is the only odd behavior I am noticing.
I have done several virus/spyware checks, and my computer is clean. My hardware is well beyond capable of handling the visual effects, and for more than 2 months, the animation worked properly.
I am stumped as to the behavior of the taskbar. If anyone has any sufggestions or ideas to share, I would be very appreciative, thanks.
