I'm a bit frustrated, so hopefully someone can help me out. I'm running the 180 day trial of W2003 R2 SP2 x64 Server and when I boot up my BIOS only presents me with 3GB of RAM and in Windows my System Properties shows 2.99GB RAM. What's the deal? Here are my specs:
Asus P5B-VM SE (supports up to 8GB of RAM and is E64MT compliant), BIOS Date 3/3/08
Intel Pentium 4 Dual CPU E2220 @ 2.40GHz (E64MT compliant)
Crucial 2x2GB DDR2 800Mhz CL5 RAM
I've never had any issues with Crucial RAM, but that's my only guess right now is that some of it is bad. However if some was bad, I would think the whole stick wouldn't work or the system would crash. I also expect the BIOS to report the total amount of RAM and then let the system divvy it up reducing the total amount when it boots into the OS.
thanks in advance
