w00000000000t. thats one big w00t. Processor is officially stable (prime 95 for about 20 minutes so far lol) at 2.6ghz. Processor and chipset temps arent worrying me at all, processor is running at 45*C load, chipset 41*c load. The one thing worrying me is the mosfets and pwmic. The pwmic temp is showing up at a blistering 56*C. A little high for comfort, though I dont know how high is too high (any suggestions on this?).

I am for sure going to get a zalman fan bracket, and a nice huge 120mm super high output delta for blowing on the ram/mosfets/pwm. should cool that stuff down really nicely. Even if I have watercooling I would still keep this fan on the mobo just to keep the non watercooled stuff cool.

without the otes my mosfets get to 65C i just put a quiet 80mm on it for a while while i hunted around for a quiet 40mm fan(my mobo didnt come with one) got fine temps with like 28 cfm (like 34-38C)
with like 8 cfm going through the otes i get about 35-40C so i think it would be easy to say that it doesnt take more then a little breeze
 
ive got a "little breeze" in the case with 4 tornadoes in it lol
 
LMAO! Still stock cooling and everything, I hit 2.7ghz lol. After about 2 minutes at that though I got one little error in Prime 95, so I took it back down to 2.6. What would cause this error at 2.7? Too hot? Not enough voltage?
 
if you have that much air flow your processor draws more current then my 4 ghz prescott
 
Give it some voltage, and run Large FFTs torture test. Make sure you set the processor affinity correctly for each instance under the "Advanced" menu.
 
I hope to get the cpu and gpu's watercooled soon.

More voltage? the PWMIC temp is already like 56*c... cpu is only like 44-45*c though
 
When I first started moding my stacker I changed out the low back fans for 2 x 80mm Tornados, after my Cat stoped coming into my room and I could no longer sleep. I tossed them for something a bit more HUSH!

I got so mad at how lound these things are I tossed them into my computer pile, never to be seen again!
 
CPU temp was still only loading both cores at 45*c, and chipset was like around 42*c. The only hot thing right now is the ram and mosfets/pwmic.

I still only had 1.42 volts in it when I tried for 2.7 so it may have just needed more voltage. but with the mosfets and pwm running around 56*c I dont know I want to put much more into it. Otherwise the other parts are handling the heat amazingly well.
 
Rig a fan over the mosfets if you can; you don't need much of a breeze to cool them down.

But even if you can't, they are quite hardy. I've seen mosfet temps as high as 80C without causing damage...a few more degrees won't kill your rig.
 
i dont see how it can draw that much more current, stepping voltage up a notch doesnt reallt increase temp that much, at least with my prescott that i feed ~1.55v
 
what were the mosfet and pwm temps at 1.55? and seriously 80c mosfets not breaking some how?
 
actualy it would top out at 48C with the otes, the 80mm fan did a better job then the otes does, but looks too ghetto i need another fan on my double heater core to do 4 ghz 24/7 stable, was fine before the 6800 ultra... lol guess 1 120mm M1A doesnt cut it for 4 ghz and 6800 at 1.4v :p
