Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
You can use a program called firedeamon to set up folding as a service then use a program called Electron Microscope to view how you are chuggin' along.
-advmethods communicates to the assignment server at Stanford that you want to work on the latest protein work units. Generally these have been higher point producers (Gromacs vs. Tinkers).
-forceSSE tells the client that it should use SSE instructions, if available, and if the folding client runs into problems, to continue using these instructions (force them). AMD chips that support SSE gain substantially with -forceSSE.
-verbosity 9 is another flag you can set that writes more details into the log file. Note the space before the 9. This flag doesn't affect performance but it can help one to figure out what is happening when things are not working as expected.
I'm not sure where one puts these when running as a service, but I'm sure one of the [H]ard experts will fill us in.
Alright, so I thought it was a service (actually - it was, it was showing up in my processes) but I don't think it's doing anything, so for now it's just running in my taskbar (which I hate ). That doesn't really work, because if someone logs off, I want it to still run.
