vsr not working anymore

I upgraded to the 15.10's from the 15.7's, now upscaling is no longer working ( box is checked but native res is still only the highest option) I then reinstalled the 15.7's, where it was working before, and now it doesnt even work with those. anyone have any idea whats going on?
 
well I did use DriverSweeper 3.2 originally, you think this would give better results?
 
hmm, still not working. When I checked the upscaling option the screen went black for a sec, but still only the native res as highest option.

have you checked any game to see how it behave? in one of my machines with a 280X VSR can go from 1920x1080@144hz to 2560x1440@100hz with 15.10, before it was only able to do 2560x1440@60hz.
 
If you are running more than one screen, try only enabling one screen and then change the setting.
 
yes, only native res in games as well . This is with a 290x lightning btw.

edit* and single display only.
 
hmm, got it working again with the 14.12 omega's. will probably just leave it at that for a min, tired of messing with it. I was thinking of maybe trying to install the the 15.7/10's right over top of these and see if it sticks. Bad idea?
 
got 15.9.1 and Diablo 3 still works at the same VSR resolution I had it on 14.12.

If it works for you no but in general such things can cause problems ....
 
meh, i just tried the 15.10 over the 14.12's and it took away the vsr. I cleaned and tried a fresh 15.7 again and still not working. So it's back to the 14.12's. It sucks because I really want to use the framerate limiter in the newer releases because rtss frame limiter won't work in starcraft 2. I guess I'm left with vsync :(
 
your doing something wrong i think....vsr working fine here with 15.10

Works fine for me on the desktop also running 15.10. Might be a bug. I think someone else had similar problems in another thread.

Well for a start..installing different driver versions over the top of different drivers..What could go wrong?:D Naw but in all honesty the screen going black seems like a voltage issue or possibly unstable gpu clock...iirc...i will say its first i have heard of it just using vsr. the thing is i dont know why anyone would want there desktop using vsr anyway? in game yea;) The lightning has super high gpu clocks right? I would check for updated gpu bios at least

"For a start", he did use driver sweeper, its helpful to read before laying the blame.
Its sad is that a driver sweeper has to be used at all, you should not expect everyone to know that anyway.
Especially that a very particular sweeper is needed.
AMD need to get their act together.

He didnt say he was using VSR on the desktop.
He noticed when the resolutions were available from the desktop without running the game.

The screen going black for a moment is quite common when making a change that takes time to set up.
NVidias DSR does this as well, especially when more than one screen is in use.

Its better to read what the op has said rather than making wrong assumptions and blaming him for not doing what he actually has.
