vSphere 4 Essentials, which includes 3 host licenses and vCenter is going for $495 with a 1 year subscription. A 3 year subscription is $590.

Good deal. No VMotion, SVMotion, HA, DRS, FT, or Thin Provisioning kind of makes me wonder why one would purchase a 3 server license at all when there are other products out there for small businesses with some of those missing options.

Thin provisioning works fine. Virtual hardware hotplug seems to work, although I've only tried NICs.
