Whoa, VR must be more grueling than I thought if the world record is just over two days. This is actually the first attempt to set a record of this type, so I guess more impressive records are on the way. I don’t even like going for more than an hour since I wear glasses.

It was the first such attempt to set a Guinness World Record for longest VR video content marathon watching, although there’s a separate record for VR video-game marathon set in the U.K. at 25 hours and 24 minutes. The CyberLink team also wanted to beat the unofficial VR-binge mark set by a German gamer last year who was immersed for 48 hours in virtual-reality gaming environments. During their record-setting session, Fragoso and Christison watched back-to-back VR movies and 360-degree shorts such as “Rogue One: Recon – A Star Wars 360 Experience,” “Kong VR: Destination Skull Island,” and short film “Invasion!” from Baobab Studios.
 
I want to know what rig they're running....appear to be laptops, but what specs?

I'd rather see Kyle put together a barely capable, always in reprojection system and make them play Serious Sam VR while sitting on one of those yoga ball chair. THAT would be a test of endurance. They just watched movies for a couple days basically. Boring.

I notice they didn't mention the 20 hours of VR Porn they watched... :D
 
In the article it says they took small breaks for showers and to go outside.. Still seems really dangerous to me.
 
You can cut the hours down even more if one were to use subliminal messages of pictures about sleep, flashing across the screen every minute.
 
This is the sort of stuff I have been waiting for, I want to see the studies showing the effect VR has on the eyes both short term and long term usage and damage.

That is how they punish the kids now instead of summer school you are forced to use a virtual boy for 2 months.
 
Jeez, those two dudes in the picture look like idiots. After 50 hours of looking like a dufus, one dude says to the other one, "Ok, lets take a break and go pick up some chicks and don't forget to bring the weed". Next thing you know, someone will incorporate a cell phone into this and you will see people walking the streets wearing these stupid looking things.
