Good afternoon,

I have been experiencing on both my old build and new build of Windows XP, periodic VPU resets. Especially when gaming. Counter-Strike, and Command and Conquer and Warcraft 3 all seem to have issues with my ATI Radeon 9800 Pro Card (ATI Card). I have, in the last month, a complete system rebuild with the 4.2 drivers with no change in the issue.

The Machine is in a full tower case with lots of Fans. I have removed the Card Slot plate next to the video card to allow cool air in there.

Anyone have any information else seen something Similar.

Darrell Rudolph AKA Rudyman.

Power Supply is a Vantec Stealth 420.

Should be sufficient for what I am running.

what are you running your memory at? - timings, voltage, etc.

for starters, set your DDR voltage to 2.7v - corsair likes higher voltage. relax your timings, too - 2.5-3-3-7 should be ok.

Ihave increased the memory Voltage.

Disabling VPU recover just means the computer will lock up.

Should I increase the AGP Power from 1.5 to 1.6V?

Thanks for the input

I have had the same exact problem with the newer CATs. I uninstalled the drivers and control panel (CAT 4.2's), restarted, installed the CAT 3.5's and haven't had a problem since. I have seen many others have the exact same problem.
