VPN on Surface RT?

Hello,

I took the bait and bought myself a Surface RT over black Friday for $200 (a steal at that price IMO).

I wasn't looking for a tablet or laptop, and the Surface never interested me. I did like the concept of the Surface Pro, but it's too pricey and battery life left to be desired (Surface Pro 2 addresses that).

But when I went to the store to buy a Galaxy Tab for my mom (that's what she wanted), I saw the Surface RT for $250 with touch cover and thought it was too cheap to pass on.

I am very very happy with my purchase for many reason, which I won't go into (this is not a review).

I'm just curious to find out if other Surface RT owners here were able to successfully connect to their work computers (for example) via VPN.

My agency uses Juniper Networks, and it's trying to install a little client (which obviously can't work on Win 8.1 RT). It seems I can't connect without that client.
However, I heard that there are some possible workarounds to this.

Thank you for sharing your experience if you encountered something similar.

Cheers!

That is a good question. We have Juniper as well. I have been looking to get these to replace our outdated ipads.

This was exactly my case.
We have an iPad 1st generation that we won in a draft, and we were looking to replace it cheaply (as we don't use it THAT much) so that we could give the iPad to our daughter.

When I saw the surface RT for that price, I got one and my wife and dad wanted one too once I demoed mine for them.

Now that the price has been adjusted, there are a lot more people who own this device. And since win 8.1 was released, it seems that people are a lot more ok with Win 8.

There are many new reviews for this device now, and basically everyone says that it is the best tablet out there at the moment (performance/price ratio of course).

I suspect prices to go back down to $200 range for Xmas...

One thing is for sure, the more popular these tablets will become, the more apps the Windows app store will have.

Now, one thing people constantly failed to mention when comparing the Windows app store to a ghost town, is that since IE11 can basically do it all, just like a computer running full Win 8, a lot of apps are simply not needed...

The ability to run Flash IE does go a long way. Indeed the app gap beyond games really isn't as big of a factor as many make it out to be because IE 11, compatibility issues aside with some sites, is a pretty kick ass touch browser. It does still have trouble with some drop down menus they can be finicky on some sites.
