I have Windows 2003 Server setup with its pre-made VPN server. I have a linux user that wants connect to our vpn. Does he need a special VPN client to be able to use it? What should he use?

I know nothing of linux, perhaps a post in the Linux section of the operating systems subforum could help.

However, I can tell you that Mandrake 10.0 comes with a VPN client built in.

THe problem is not getting a client for linux prese but interoperability with windows based VPN, of which I know no client

I onlyknow of two linux vpn programs
Openvpn (Doesn't work with windows vpn)
Poptop (Last time I checked it doesn't do it either.)

I use poptop, as a server tho, which my wireless windows clients connect to. No idea about client software.

Seems tho there is lots of client software for vpn. Just have to find one that will work for you.

Quick glance; I see 4 programs with available ebuilds in gentoo:
cisco-vpnclient-3des
kvpnc
openvpn
vpnc
