Just got one of these last night. So far I'm liking it.... text is crisp and clean, and graphics look excellent (compared to the L90D+ I returned).

What settings is everyone using for this LCD? Specifically, what are your contrast, brightness , and color settings?

Also, are you running DVI / VGA, and at what refresh rate?

Currently I'm using (it sucks that contrast and brightness are not reflected as numbers, counting the ticks to the "line marker"):

Contrast: 9
Brightness: 5

Color: 6500K

DVI @ 70hz

Thanks.

I thought the LD90+ was supposed to be nice? It's one of those new 8ms
monitors.

Your setup is almost identical to mine except I have the contrast and brightness
both down to about half. It's way too bright above that.
Same DVI at 70hz (I'm not even sure why that would matter on an LCD monitor),
color at 6500k, running off my ATI AIW X600 Pro PCIE.
I turned the fonts in XP to cleartype like alot of people said to do.

The monitor is amazing to look at, especially when I'm playing Doom 3.
The only thing I'm unsure about is whether I should use 32-bit or 16-bit
color in Windows. I don't think the monitor supports 32-bit color but that's
where I left it at.

Oh, I also use the vsync option in Doom 3 so my framerate doesn't
go higher than my refresh rate. That gets rid of the tearing effect people
talk about.

My last few monitors have all been Viewsonic and they've all been good to me.
This one amazes me.

I didn't like the L90D+. Especially the quality of the text... was kinda weak (compared to my Sony SDM-S93).

I've got my VP912b tacked onto an X800 pro. Haven't tried Doom3 or HL2 yet (I have them installed).... too busy playing World of Warcraft (which looks excellent on the monitor!).
