Hello all...just brought home a Viewsonic VP201b. Nice panel, but i have a problem/question.

There is a sort of "snowiness" or flickering that passes across the screen, from top to bottom, left to right. Moves pretty fast and is rather obvious when the screen is dark. Why is this happening? Is is a software/driver thing? (installed the Viewsonic driver from the disk) Or is it a faulty monitor. I have tried 2 different DV cables, including one that i know works.

FYI...i also have a VP912b. No problems at all, looks great and used the driver that came on the Viewsonic install disk.

Any ideas?

Thanks to all who respond.

I bought mine about a month ago the silver one and its great for gaming doesn't have that snowie affect your talking about. It might be a defect. You should consider in taking it back or call viewsonic and see if they have some kind of techincal support or something like that

i believe the viewsonic is the same as the dell 2001fp. except the dell is about 40% cheaper.

for the driver, you should take the unofficial driver on viewsonic site.

What video card do you have?
