Problem- The screen has a stuck (dead?) pixel and its really annoying me. It is white in colour. The weird thing is that this pixel comes and gos. When it does come ratting the DVI cable at the back of my monitor normally makes it go away. Or rubbing the screen. But now it just stays there.

I have some static at the back of my monitor at the power lead. I also have speakers right next to my monitor. Could this be causing it?

I just moved my PC back upstairs into my new room. At fist boot it was all fine. But I just moved my pc a little and took all connections out at the back. All went back in and booted fine. Then I noticed the pixel.

What I have tried-

Grounding the connection at the back by floating some pilers around it.

Pushing in the DVI cable on both connections (Graphic card and monitor)

What else can I do?

EDIT-

This is where it gets weird.

Only on the desktop can I see the pixel, everywhere else it does not show up (I.E. windows).

(its the little faint white dot)

Where is it now? This is the same for all other windows and things.

You won't be able to take a screenshot of a dead pixel, as it is in the hardware itself. It's probably a white dot on the background wallpaper, easily fixed by painting over it.

Hi there,

It seems that all the pictures I took with a camera has a white spot on it. This is confusing as I NEVER noticed it before.

I just put a black background which I made in MS Paint and everything is ok.

Thanks.
