OK just a quicky on the best ( not the cheapest but that would be good too ! ) way to use a Nintendo Gamecube on this monitor ? Is the only way a VGA box ? If so which is the better sort that I can get hold of in the UK ?

You can buy a TV card for the comp and play it that way. If you want to use just the monitor with DVI inputs, I don't know if the Viewsonic N boxes can do it, but you might want to give them a look.
