Hey I had a voodoo3 that was missing the stock alumiunum heatsink that it comes with. So I put a copper zalman northbridge heatsink on it. I mean I know its for northbridge but a voodoo3 is old, besides this one is a copper heatsink compared to the old aluminum one.

But anyway I stuck it into a linux box I have and when its running it heats up to the point where I cant lay my finger on the heatsink.

I mean is the heatsink just transferring heat efficiently? Or is it not a good cooling solution? I mean c'mon its a voodoo3! Plus the default heatsink looked a lot shittier than this zalman one...

That means the HS is transfering the heat. The old VooDoo3's ran hot. IF you're worried about it, stick an old socket 7 era HS fan on it.

It seems the heatsink is working nicely..........but where do u get copper zalman northbridge heatsink??? ZM-NB32J or ZM-NB47J both are aluminium AFIK.............maybe u using some newer model:confused:
