I have 2 Voodoo2 1000s. I bought one assuming it was an identical board, which it isnt. It seems, however, to be the same refrence board. Everything is laid out the same, all the 3fdx chips have the same printing. Then. the RAM is different. My old one has 12 chips on one side, while the other board has 12 RAM chips, front and back. I tried to SLI these and couldnt, is it because they are different, because they have the exact same specs, and are detected as identical boards. Im using fastvoodoo2 4.0 gold edition. My main card (in my sisters computer) is a 16 meg vanta PCI. These are both PCI also.

As I remeber, the cards have to be the same brand or it won't work.... To long ago.

Mr Bill, I believe they have to be the same brand. I was running 2 Creative Labs Voodoo2's in SLI, however 1 card went down abou a year ago....so I'm still stuck with one. Good Luck to ya.

Umm, i think you should upgrade.
This is a downgrade, just to be cool at LANs

So, all I remember is the cool looking red guy on the box. The box read "3dfx Voodoo2 1000." Is that what I need to look for?

If the cards have different Vendor ID's I don't think they'll work unless you get a special driver for it. There are some drivers out there for mismatched Voodoo2's
