Okay i have a x-Fi Extreme music...ive installed the drivers only from the cd and all the driver updates. Now the sound works fine but for example i have winamp open listening to music and i wanna watch a video of something on the internet if i bring the volume all the way down on winamp it mutes everything else on the computer that involves sound. Basically whichever audio application is opened first dictates the volume sound and is directly synced to the volume manager and i have no idea why. Does anyone have any ideas to work around this. I just did a fresh format and this just started happening since then. Any help would be great this is driving me insane...
