So I upgraded the cooling on my eVGA 6800GT card to the Arctic Cooling Accelero X1 and was now ready to try voltmodding. I read some articles and tried this NiBiTor.v3.1 program to make my BIOS with a 1.4 voltage instead of the regular 1.3 but it wouldn't match the board id when I would try flashing it. After many failed attempts I downloaded a random eVGA 6800 Ultra BIOS with a 1.4 voltage off the internet and tried flashing and it worked, sweet!
Now my card won't post.. after reboot the screen was black and I knew I screwed it up. I plugged in an old PCI card and got to my desktop where the hardware manager was trying to install a new 6800 ultra card. I let it install, but during the installation the screen will go black again.
I'm thinking now I have to use some kind of backup BIOS. I had made one with NiBiTor but when I tried to install the backup it would try to flash the old PCI card instead and I can't figure out how to guide the nvflash to flash the AGP card instead of the PCI card in DOS. I hope somebody understands this better than me because I don't have the money for another card. :(

EDIT: I tried using a backup again and read more carefully what it said. The error said something about how the adapters didn't match the image I was trying to use. So apparently I need to find a new image to write over the non posting one... how do you know what image to use?

Hey does the X1 fit it well? I got a BFG6800GT and need a new cooling.

Have you tried just resetting your own BIOS to it's defaults? Remove the battery and the jumpers to clear CMOS?

No I haven't tried resetting the CMOS or taking out the battery... you think that would affect the graphics card? I don't have anything overclocked besides the graphics...
I'll try it though.

Yeah clearing the CMOS had no affect on fixing the bad vga bios. I currently have the "6800 ultra" disabled and if I enable it the screen will go black. Anyone else know how to flash over this bad bios or should I start saving up for a new card?

OK so I found out how to erase the bad bios and I replaced it with the original eVGA bios for my card. I thought everything would workout but when I switch the monitor plug from my pci to my agp and then boot I still get a black screen. The computer is booting but without a display...
