I have read so much into voltages and what is "safe" and what isn't that I now know less than I did in the first place. Some people say 1.55v is fine, others say to stay stock. Some go by CPU-Z, some use strictly BIOS (BIOS seems right to me).

Now that I have my TR Ultra 120 Extreme all settled in, my idle temps are 30-32, and load tops at 60 after hours of Prime95 large/small FFT.

My E4400 is sitting at 3.0ghz even, 300x10. The only problem is it needs a good amount of voltage past 2700mhz, which it can do on stock voltages. I am running it at 1.4375 vcore right now, and it's showing up as 1.392 idle and 1.36 load in CPU-Z.

I have read that keeping it at 1.4v and under is ideal for daily use. I'd like to keep this processor until spring/Intel's new quads are at a reasonable price, so obviously 1.45v and higher is quite out of the question.

As you can see, my temps seem quite fine but the chip needs a lot of voltage to get there. It's probably not very [H] of me, but do you think under 1.45 is relatively safe?

Thanks in advance everyone.

I've been driving mine at 3.4ghz @ 1.55 / 1.6vcore. 8 Hrs Orthos small FFT stable.

I'm not overly concerned... it's a pretty cheap chip.

1.45v is fine.

Try dropping your multi to 9 to get past 3ghz.

I got the exact same problem; highest frequency I got is 300x10 and 335x9 @1.445v. I tried 1.5v but the CPU won't get pass 3.2Ghz :(

I guess my chip doesn't like high frequency...

Thanks guys... I will try the 9x multiplyer and take it as high as 1.45v, but that's my limit.
