Okey the 8800GTXs temps are driving me crazy and I don't wanna know how hot and noisy it's gonna be during the summer.

Which of the 8800GTXs manufacturers offer good warranty. I wanted to watercool my XFX 8800GTXs, but they said if I remove the HS/F I will be voiding the warranty. If there is any, or any experienced, or knows anything about any 8800GTX manufacturer that will let you retain your warranty even just after replacing the HS/F ?

I know this thread doesn't seem to be on the right place, but hey most of you do VGA watercooling and may have ended up needing warranty replacement.

I'm planning on selling away these 2 XFX cards and buy new ones from a different manufacturer that will retain warranty after replacing HS/F, that is if there is one.

Cheers folks !

unless there are those stickers that say "do not remove this sticker or you will void your warrenty" on there, they have no way of telling if you remove the stock heatsink, put a water block on it, it dies, you put the stock HSF back on and RMA it.

i think the techs would be able to tell... if nothing else by the changed out TIM

True. Back when I had an eVGA card they even stated that if you use an aftermarket cooler you need to reattach the stock HSF before you send the card back for warranty or repair.

Also true, but be careful not to put any tool marks on anything or generally provide evidence that the stock HSF has been touched.

= almost impossible

EVGA is the only company I know of that allows you to remove the stock heatsink assembly and overclock the card and still retain the lifetime warranty.

Does anyone know if the warranty coverage is the same also for Europe, particularly Germany ?

Buy the BFG 8800s. They have the DD waterblock on them already so you won't void your warranty.

BFG watercooled version is WAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY over-priced in this damn country ! You can practically by 2 of the standard 8800GTXs for the price of the watercooled version.

Plus, you will lose the joy of assembling it yourself ;)

Okey, I'm off to the EVGA boards and some questions about this warranty coverage concern...
