Voice recognition for COM

I'm looking for some kind of program for that will recognize my voice and execute commands according to that voice. It will mostly be C, or w/e language communicates with the USB/COM Servo controller i get. Does anyone have any experience with these kinds of programs? I'm very new to this topic, so any help would be appreciated.

are there any other options? I'm planning on running this on an advantech board, so it has to be simple.
 
Thanks for the clarification; I didn't see in your original note that you were planning on running this on an embedded board. I thought you were using your PC to control a board that controlled the motors.
