I know its still a little early but who all is attending VMworld 2011 this year?

Found out today that I was approved to go along with my boss. Being that this is my first ever conference I'm pretty excited.

Anyone interested in having a meetup?

Awesome! You'll have fun, last year was a blast!

Still waiting to hear if my session got accepted or not, but I'll be there either way.

We should definitely get some drinks going

I expect to be there. Waiting to hear on my sessions as well but I should be there either way.

I haven't been... I expected to go this year, but with the huge budget cuts within the DoD I won't get to. I work for DISA and the travel budget got hammered as an obvious place to cut. :(

I'll be there fo sho - even though I just got back a few weeks ago from there, haha. Hopin to bring the wifey along. She'll be chillin at the pool while I nerd out.

If you don't bring her, I'm sure you can "find" one there... Vegas baby!

I'm trying to get approval for this, but my company is going though some reorg so not sure if this will happen.

I'm sure that's why she wants to come so bad....

Well both myself and my boss are booked for vmworld.

Quick question, how do you sign up for sessions or is it just first come first serve?

It's both. They will open session scheduling soon and then you build out your schedule. I believe it's going to be like last year where having something on your schedule doesn't lock in your seat. It's first come, first serve which I hate.

Same here...I didn't like last year having to wait in line for an hour, but oh well. We'll see how they manage it this year.

Got my trip all booked, can't wait for August! See everyone there!

Let's get a meetup of sorts going as well

Good seeing you all last year, but I won't be there this year. Got sent to a neat VMUG instead though :)

If any of you are ever in the Denver area, drop me a line.

Just finally booked my travel and hotel.

Sorry you won't be there lopoetve! I can't harass you with questions. :)

Session scheduler opened today and it looks like they are reserving your spot in the sessions. If you're signed up go fill out your schedule ASAP to make sure you get what you want.

Might change some things around/remove some things but so far this is the schedule. Might of overbooked my days just a little bit.

not going either, maybe next year ill get the ambition to make some proposals on VMware View

Please God let me find a new job that allows me to go to things like this...the waiting is killing me...lol

is that like the wait for nintendo wii there vader?

It's beginning to look like that. A job offer should be coming from my top pick..but i'm continuing to look until I get a firm offer on paper.

I really want to work for EMC, eventually becoming a vSpecialist or maybe starting out with that team one way or another.

Really it's my location that's hurting me the most..and I can't move right now..kids in school.

Are all the sessions documented etc where you can at least get them and read over the presentations if you do not have the opportunity to go?

Last year they videoed them all and you could watch them later. I had a list of about 20 to watch. Ask me how many I went back and did? :)

Really glad to see that this will cut down on the 1-1.5 hour waiting in line that I ended up doing last year!

Almost time! I'm so late on getting my presos done... Working on getting one finished up right now.

Yep I'm all set, sessions booked, hotel was booked a while back, did flights beginning of this week.

Can't wait!

SPOUSETIVITIES..Hmmmmmmm. Maybe I will get my wife to go to the conference and I will hang out with all the spouses. Yeah, baby!!! Just kidding, just kidding! LOL

I wanna go, but low budget and busy schedule means not this year...
I should find more expensive conferences so I can use VMWorld as a low budget compromise... or just request training...

Hurricane is causing havoc for east coasters going out. Had two people from my company get flights cancelled.

Coming from FL with a direct flight. Don't think I will be affected.

Flight leaves at 6:30am Monday and gets in to Vegas at 8am ish.

So far mine is good. Leave here at 11:30am tomorrow and get to Vegas at 12:50 local time.

Gettin' ready to go to the airport here shortly! S'pose'd to be 100+ degrees all week - WOOT!
