VMworld 2011 Public Voting is Open!

Sigh, I'd love to go, but I doubt I get to. The way they line this up is "training" and if I were to leave within a certain time frame I'd be paying a lot of the costs back. Not something I really want to entertain.

You've got some great sessions there, will definitely be getting my votes!

I'll be there, can't wait! My two sessions made it to public voting so I'm hoping one makes it through.

Alas I am trading VMworld this year for Defcon, but man I would love to go.

NetJunkie, do you by chance like cisco products? :p

1567 and 1570. So many good sessions up for voting this year. It's going to be hard to make a schedule this year!

Hey Brian! I didn't realize that was you. :) I'll be surprised if your Lab Manager to vCD session doesn't get chosen. That is going to be REALLY popular. I had a customer ask me about that just the other day..probably the 3rd one. We need to sit down when we're in the same city and have you give me a lesson on this so I can talk intelligently about it.

haha, sorry about that :) I've had a different username on here for a little while now.

I saw another session similar to mine up there from some folks at VMware, so it wouldn't surprise me if that gets chosen over mine. I'm sure they have more experience than I do :) But it's definitely a good topic right now, been hearing lots in the community about it. It's also something I'd love to get audience feedback on to hear some stories from different environments.

We definitely need to chat! I'd love to go over LM-->vCD with you and I've been wanting to pick your brain on vSphere design (among other things) for awhile now. Was bummed that I couldn't make it down for Varrow's event. Let's definitely sit down at VMworld, if not before!

Really hoping your sessions make it through btw. Next gen DC's is of particular interest to me and I want to see that n1kv live install :)

Well..VMware SAYS that preference goes to customers first, then partners, then manufacturers but we'll see... I notice this year that you can't tell how your'e doing in voting. Last year the sessions were listed from most votes to least votes so you could see how you did. But....voting isn't everything. We had a session last year on SRM and RecoverPoint that was #1 in voting in Disaster Recovery and it was still denied... Maybe this year they decided not to show you the votes so you couldn't complain.

Interesting, I didn't know that. I was kind of curious as to how I could see the voting numbers. I know people had mentioned you could last year, that's too bad they took it away.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Do the notifications go out pretty quickly after public voting closes?

Honestly don't remember...but I do remember that last year the acceptance emails went out before the "Thanks but no thanks" emails. Those went out a few hours later.

That's funny, would have figured it would be the other way around.

Either way, I'm really excited for VMworld this year. Some great sessions there!
