My VM just notified me that there's a new version of VMWare Server out - 2.0 Beta. I'm currently running 1.04. Anybody try this out yet? There's a mention of increased performance and stability - maybe it'll help FAH?

Well, first of all, it's a beta. That doesn't have to say anything, but it may have some unexpected quircks.

I read it now natively supports 64-bits Linux installations. Maybe that can help with F@H.

Oh, that's interesting...

Do you have a link to the beta ? I will try it out when I reinstall my OS tomorrow to see if it helps.

I tried it a while back and didn't care for it at all. I don't remember the specific problems but I had some that I did not feel like dealing with to try and get it to work.

Also, the manager runs through a web browser instead of having a standalone program for it. I did not care for that at all. I wouldn't have minded having both (since I think the current version has both) but I hated the browser setup for the manager.

I went back to the non-beta version pretty quick as I have most of the problems and bugs worked out of it.

Same here, I had no luck with it at all.

One I tried but couldn't make work at all was Virtual Iron, anyone tried that one?:)

I got it to work, but it made all the little wrinklles, one HUGE wrinkle. Hell I can do that myselft...

Would the support for 64-bit Linux make a significant performance improvement for SMP F@H?
