VMWare runs horribly...

I downloaded VMWare server to load ubuntu so I can fold in Vista, but it runs horribly. It was so bad I uninstalled. It's the first program I've come across that didn't run well in Vista. Oh well.
 
Until recently I had 3 Vista PC's and 1 XP PC running VMWare 2 with Ubuntu and 2 with SUSE. They were slow when you used linux but were pulling close to 1kppd with the SMP Linux client.

A couple of days ago I repartitioned the OS drive (you can do this from with in Vista now) and installed Ubuntu dual boot on two of the Vista PC's. (both are AMD x2 4200)

It does run ALOT faster, so I should be pulling a few more PPD out of that. I still have SUSE running in VMWARE on 1 Vista box (AMD x2 4200) and on one XP box (AMD FX-60) that I need up and running as windows. Using linux in Vmware on them is slow but doable.

All pc's have 2 gigs of ram and 512 given over to VmWare and VmWare tools installed which did help with video.
 
VMWare ran so poorly compared to Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 that I uninstalled VMWare. I have used VMWare in the past, and I don't remember it being this bad.
