VMWare killed my sound?

Last night I installed an eval version of VMWare 4.5 and after installed VMWare I installed Suse 10 - after which I've lost sound on my host computer (Windows XP Pro SP2). I've since uninstalled VMWare and removed any left over guest files - still no sound.

I've checked Volume settings, re-installed sound drivers.


Any ideas?

Ok well I've removed every thing I could find regarding the VMware software and the sound card files and upgraded the BIOS. Restarted the computer with the sound card disabled then rebooted again with it enabled installed the drivers from the CD and I now have sound again! YAY!!!

crap, that could have happend to me, I lost my on board sound after VServer so I bought a new sound card and it worked, I like my sound card though
