VMWare in XP32 vs Vista64

So using the exact same VMware file I loaded up vmware in my new vista64 install. (wow it was frustrating to install it in vista64)
Anways on the exact same workunit and the same system in vista it takes 13minutes per frame, and in xp32 it takes about 7 minutes per frame (3.4ghz C2D). I then rebooted back into XP and its back to 7 min/frame. Has anyone else tried running VMware in vista either 32 or 64 bit. do you find it slower or the same, and are you using 32 or 64 bit version? Any comments on if this might be fixable.
