So, trying to track down the driver for the onboard software raid on intel system board S5520UR.

My search thus far ahs lead me here

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Det...ng=eng&OSVersion=VMware*&DownloadType=Drivers

however this pacakge doesn't contain a proper index.xml etc. what is does have is a suggestion to search for some tips and tricks PDF on their site, so i did. that document points to and suggets using LSI_5_34-offline bundle which I've grabbed and am about to export a new iso.

just wondering if anyone has a better answer before i start burning disk after disk until i find the right friggin driver.

it isn't. there is a driver missing somewhere. i'll have to deal with my intel rep/support.

Well in theory according to their documentation it would have worked. Best of luck sorting that out with intel.

for anyone wondering, intel support was no help. apparently there is no vmware .vib for the onboard software raid.

oh well, scrounged up some lsi 9240s. they work fine.
