I am blissfully ignorant as to VMware Fusion's capabilities but I always assumed that it's the same as VMware Workstation just for Mac. If that's so, how come Workstation retails for $190 and Fusion retails for $50 (after $30 MIR)?

Workstation has more networking capabilities, not sure if that would account for the price difference.

Sure there are some other things too.

VMware sells a lot of Workstation in to companies..they sell a lot of Fusion to home and mobile users.

Workstation is a lot more advanced than VMware fusion. I would compare Fusion more to Vmware player than workstation. It has more features than player but that would be what I would compare it to,

edit: I do have and use both.

They should sell a Fusion-like version for Windows for less. Or just go get your VCP so you get it free. :)

If by free you mean $3500 for the mandatory class, then yes - free. I'm still bitter about that requirement :(

Yeah, the requirement kind of sucks but it's an investment. I can't find good VMware people and trust me, I'm looking.
