After installing my xp pro guest os on windows 7 64bit host, I am getting this error/message "network bridge on device vmnet0 is not running" which I is preventing me from being able to connect to the internet.

Going to Edit >> Virtual Network Editor shows me that automatic bridging is on ("automatically choose an available physical network adapter to bridge to VMnet0").

Any ideas? Never seen this problem before when I used to use XP Pro 32bit...

You're one step ahead of me, I couldn't get VMWare to load on my 64-bit Win7 box.

Did you disable the signed driver check? I think you can do it via menu option by F8ing during boot.

I had VMware Server running on Windows 7 x64 also, only loaded linux as a guest OS though.

i am running vmware under windows 7 64bit. my guest os is xp 32bit. i usually select NAT in the network options. and can separately connect to net from either host or guest, as i used a dial up EDGE connection. but yet to find a way for internet sharing between host and guest. but can share file between host and guest in network neighborhood.
