I am intending to install and experiment with virtual machines on some of my systems, and have a couple of inquiries. My first installation of VMware server revealed the limiting factor of a two processor max per VM. Can this limit be increased?

Second question, what other VM software does anyone recommend? I read of certain VM freeware and some are supposedly superior to VMware. I want to install F@H with more than 2 processors per VM. TIA

 
Run 2 VM to get around this limitation. This is also a advantage for a lot of us since we don't want a client fighting for 4 cores, only 2.

Other virtual machine software is often limited to 1 core so VMWare is basically the only choice.

 
I was going to install only one VM and wanted to configure 4 processors in Windows with AC. I'm somewhat limited in RAM and the host OS is 32-bit XP. This is for an 8-core system and AC is not supported regardless the number of SMP clients installed.
 
I believe the 2 processors is the limit for VMWare server, until you get into the pay ones, ie ESX...etc.

I would look to see how you can allocate cores out in Xen. this one might be your best bet.
