We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.

VM DirectPath Question

Have a vendor that is looking to virtualize their service, and we are their pilot. They use a hardware encryption card (PCIe) for transactions to a single machine.

So - the challenge now in our environment is passing this encryption card through to a single VM. DirectPath is looking promising, but I don't know how comprehensive support is for hardware that is not on the HCL. SafeNet (the manufacturer) has not submitted a piece for qualification that I'm aware of.

TL;DR - Is DirectPath even worth a shot to try passing through a PCI device that isn't on the HCL, or is this just going to be a mess?

Only way to know is to try. People routinely pass thru HBA cards and they work fine, even though not officially supported.

Thanks for the replies.

Hopefully it goes well - the cost savings are pretty insane (almost 100k if this works) - but I'm not about to beat my head against the wall if unsupported pass through is a lost cause.
