Just wanted to start a thread about this TV for those looking for a monitor this size. I was looking at upgrading my 22 inch Samsung TN panel monitor because the viewing angles were annoying me and I was looking for something bigger. I decided to purchase this TV after it went on sale at officemax for about 300, it's also at sams club and costco for even a little cheaper.
It makes a great monitor. I have it setup with my laptop over hdmi and the size is fantastic. The panel seems to be some type of VA based on the test image on this site: http://www.mediachance.com/pbrush/monitor.html Although, this monitor doesn't exhibit the center gray area as described by the site. The entire screen is a uniform green. I'm assuming that for this type of panel it has minimal color shifting. I know that you can purchase an IPS based display for this price at 23 inches. I also own a HP zr22w with an IPS panel and I would have to say that the quality is very good if not almost identical in comparison. Anyway, if you are looking in this price range and don't mind sacrificing the IPS panel for 3 more inches, edge led lighting (backlight uniformity and some power savings), and more input options then you may want to check out this TV. It also has some built in apps for netflix, pandora and the like but I personally don't value those much since this is hooked up to my pc anyway. Input lag also seems very low although I know that can be subjective.
