VIVO and Consoles?

If I get a card with VIVO capabilities (like the Asus 9800 Pro 256MB), could I use it to play a videogame console on my monitor? Would I need some sort of special program for this? Or is the video-in only used for capturing video?

Thank you.

So what does the "Video In" mean exactly? It only accepts certain video devices? If it's coming through an S-Video cable, I don't see why I could hook up a video camera but not a console.

no a VIVO card should be able to do it though I'm not too sure on the point. you'll need an SVideo output from your console to go into the SVideo input of the gfx card. Youll need to run some kind of capture program but they can usually display the live image from the input, so it could work.

OK, assuming I have an S-Video cable for my GameCube, and the card has S-Video input, what else would I need?

a y-adapter for the Sound...

Well, yeah. But I mean what kind of program would I need to play the GameCube over my monitor.

ASUS gives it with their VIVO cards... I have the 9800XT, It's called ASUS Digital VCR

You can capture with Virtualdub but you can do that with MM2 I think, I've never tried it but thats what I hear. If so either look for a program on the cards CD or try MM2 or Virtualdub.

DScaler works on mine after a new release.

to clarify, DScaler works on my Ti4200. Excellent program.

And I could use this Digital VCR program to play a console through the Video-In?
