Hello,

I have a question for any one working with Visual Studio 2005 Pro:

I just went to a company were thy do development and it is a really small company. They have a VS2005 Pro Full Package and they used it to install on 5 computers.

Scince i never worked with Visual Studio my question is, can the install it on that many computer with just one box or is it like all the other products where you have to get 1 for each PC/User?

Depends on their licensing. They may have an MSDN subscription which should allow 10 or more depending on the level. If it is retail then it will be just 1. If they had an MSDN you would think they would use the 2008 though, unless they have old unfinished projects.

As xxEIEIOxx said, it depends. For example, the small company I work for is a Microsoft Partner. Thus we get just about any Microsoft product that we want under a volume license, meaning we can install it on just about as many computers as we like. We use VS 2005 and 2008 a lot and have it on several computers without issue. Only way to know is to double check with the company what kind of license they have. But if you bought one personally, for yourself, it would probably be a standard retail license for a single PC. :)
