I'm having an ongoing issue that infrequently pops up, but its annoying nonetheless. Often when playing some games, I have an issue where the screen just goes bonkers and it seems like one part of the screen in is going in an opposite direction to the other. There is somewhat of a shadow effect, but with lines instead that distort the entire screen.
Currently the only way I know to fix it is to reboot and everything is fine. I originally thought it was an overclocking issue, but I've throttled down to base clocks and it still is happening. The card passes stress tests (even at overclocked speeds), so is this possibly a v-sync issue (from what I have read, it sort of sounds like my issue but a bit different)? I've noticed that it primarily happens immediately after I exit the games either to a selection menu or to the desktop.
If anyone has any experience with this and can chime in, that would be appreciated. I've since turned on v-sync from the last occurrence (hour or two ago ;/), but I can never really know since its a once every 1-2 weeks problem.
Edit: Forgot to mention to post system! Q9400 (stock), PowerColor 6850 @ 850/1150 (but at stock past 2 weeks), 8GB DDR2-800 ram, Intel Q43 motherboard and enough HD space to open my own datacenter.
