Greetings:
Need a good PDF reader that works with Vista64.
My OS which I'm still getting used to, didn't like Adobe Acrobat 5.5. (Came with one of my aps.)
Free is best. ;)
Many thanks for any help.

Adobe Reader 9, obviously. There's a switchless installer out there someplace... loads much faster than old versions, also.

Foxit Reader, small and fast, lightweight, very popular.

Sumatra PDF, my PDF reader of choice, with Adobe Reader 9 as a backup if I find one that doesn't render properly in Sumatra.

And a whole bunch of others, but those are the "top 3" I'd recommend checking out. As for an actual 64 bit PDF reader, I'm not aware of any yet but it sure wouldn't hurt to have one.

Yeah, I just use foxit, small binary (~2.5 MB) and handles the docs I throw at it.

I love FoxIt. Used to hate opening PDFs because Adobe Reader always seemed to take forever launching to open them.

On this machine I'm on right now, Adobe Reader 7 (basic installation) takes ~8 seconds to open a 1355 page PDF I have, straight text, no real images to speak of. Adobe Reader 8 takes 4, and Adobe Reader 9 - after a clean boot (Windows 7 Beta 1) and the first run of AR9 - loads it in about 1.5 seconds... Superfetch ftw!!!

But even so, AR9 is much faster at loading files, and if you disable a lot of the useless plugins, it can get extremely fast, and of course it displays PDF files better than anything else out there.

I use the switchless installer so it's not a big hassle. Just run the installer .exe and I click OK on the popup (UAC) to install it, and I never see another window during the installation. I know it's installed when all my PDF icons change to the correct ones...

Thanks for the great response guys.:)

I use the switchless installer
Jeez, I hate to sound like such a newb but, whats a switchless installer? (cringe)
