hello. i have an problem with windows vista and windows xp.
i have had to do a format recently and i tried to set up both on a dual boot system. for some reaseon it has not worked.
wen i restart my computer there is no boot option for the earlier version of windows (xp). it just boots straight into vista.:(
i think the bootsec.bak file is missing or something but i dont know what to do anout it. i have installed vista first and then xp and repair vistas nt loader then (this should put me in the position of being able to boot either vista or xp) twice.
i have a program called EasyBCD which allows me to configure the vista boot manager to put in extra boot files but i dont know wer to get these files or anything.
can any1 help me out? i really miss my dual boot. i really sont like vista and it was only ever installed for vista only games. i do not want to be stuck with 1 or the other. thanx in advance.
:);)

Simply repairing Vista's bootloader after intsalling XP over Vista isn't gonna work. You have to add an entry for XP in EasyBCD. As far as I know you dont have to specify any bootfiles to do so, only the partition XP is located on.
