Vista x64 Ultimate explorer.exe infinite crash

When I start windows explorer.exe immediately crashes and it asks me if I want to restart it and if I click either "Check online for a solution and restart the program" or "Restart the program" it reloads explorer.exe and crashes again, and so on.

The only way to end this loop is to open Task Manager and close explorer.exe, and if I do a "Run..." explorer.exe the vicious cycle starts a new.

BTW: I have already ran AVG, NOD32, Malwarebytes, S&D, sfc /scannow, chkdsk /f/r, automatic repair from boot CD, restored computer to a previous state. And nothing seems to fix it.

Sounds like you could have a bad shell extension causing you problems.

It was a virus, but had to run a couple more AV for them to get it.
