VISTA sucks?

Latest Report: Vista Sucks

This is Tiger Lord reporting at NYC where thousands of angry Vista users assembled to protest against the secret barrier Microsoft hard coded in their latest Operation System Windows Vista, limiting the use of any video cards you purchase.

''This is fucking nuts ! Vista sucks !'' cries one of the marching customer. When asked what the exact implications of the issue were, the response was extremely clear and logic: ''This new Vista shit limits the capacity of the hardware we buy ! And this is proven facts, it comes from a trusted source, a friend who is a computer guru, a master ! He has a ph.D. in Teeth Brushing Science and Garbage Can Design! He knows what he's talking about !''.

Microsoft was unavailable to comment on the issue. However, Microsoft's spokeperson was seen preparing the banner for the upcoming press conference to respond to the allegations, which sole design were three big letters read as L - O - L . We were unable to identify its meaning at this point.

Suffice to say there will be much more of those marches to come, as such business practice should be considered unacceptable.

This was Tiger Lord at Starbucks, in New York.

I believe that would tear a hole in the universe.

I'm not sure about the universe, but I'm sure it would tear a hole in your stomach.

I liked that one about Vista reporting you had two twinkies left........:D

never heard of this issue. Obviously the "techie" was on acid when he said this. :)

Or forgot he only had a 320 meg card. laugh

I kinda of remember someone saying something about this when Vista was first released. It seemed that the issue only applied to the 8800GTS if I recall correctly. I am not going to look for the thread where this was discussed, because I'm lazy, but it may be a valid issue. I think it has to do with just what the OS reports for the card's memory and that no games are adversely effected by it.

Vista says I have 1.5GB of Total Available Graphics Memory. Says 768mb are dedicated video ram and 768mb of shared system memory. maybe it does it this way because I have 4GB of ram, idk, but im not complaining either.

Come to think of it I think it says the same thing for my system. I don't recall anything about shared video/system memory though.

Look in Display settings, and click on advanced settings, its on the adapters tab, should show it there, at least that is where I got my info at.

twinkies have a 22 year shelf life, and many people estimate it to be indefinate. On "Good Eats" someone ate a 30 year old twinkie, and said it tasted exactly like a 2 week old one. Any pastry that has triple the shelf life of a battery is questionable at best.

although this (off)topic is making me laugh, i had to investigate..........;)

Snopes is our friend....

according to them Twinkies actually only last 25 days......

i guess its open to interpretation, but regardless i never eat Twinkies(I've tried one, that was enough)........

and as far as the topic, well......lets just say when i talk to a "techie" for my dsl or whatnot i usually have a better understanding of the "technical" stuff than they do. and no, i've never encountered this "bug" with vista(on mine or anyone else's box).

edit: I am going to check into that good eats ep tho, its the only cooking show i actually enjoy and i respect what alton has to say......

They are awesome when deep fried!

I have still only had one that way, though. I wouldn't do that to my body a second time. But it was soooooo gooooooooood :(

And on the whole lying techie (vs car mechanic), I found (when I was on IT helpdesks, back in the day) that users lie far more often than the "techies" they call for help.

"Yes, I checked the floopy drive and there is nothing in there."
"Of course I have tried rebooting, already."
"I didn't change anything, it just started doing that."
"My collegue has the exact same system, and it works fine for them."

Riiiiiiiight. Suuuuure. Not. ALL LIES!!!

There is a reason that "user" is a four letter word.
