Hey just had a few questions about SP1. How many of you have 'upgraded' to SP1? If so is it better? Do you have likes and dislikes? How has gaming performance changed for you? I have read a few articles (on gaming performance) @ bit-tech and a few other places, but I wanted to know what you all think. Please respond and thanks!

No noticeable performance improvements or degradation.
Just got it for all the security/compatibility fixes in the background.

Only noticeable things for me:
File copying from one drive to another has improved in performance.
Zoom Player crashes with VMR Rendering enabled.

I haven't played a game on my comp since before installing SP1.

I haven't really noticed a difference in gaming that I could credit to the service pack, but the machine seems a little smoother an faster in general.

I haven't noticed a difference on my laptop except I can connect to my home network a little faster and I have fewer network drops.

I've seen repots of increased performance in gaming.

I haven't experienced it myself, as I'm still using XP until tomorrow.

Same here on my pc. Which I think is a good thing for me anyways since I was not having any problems with Vista.

The only issue I had was with my networked Brother lazer printer.
It was set off line after SP1, and the only way to fix it was reinstall the driver.
But that was minor.

I've had no other problems in games or things I've tried.

Final release is out. All I noticed was that it got rid of the search button on the start menu and that moving or copying files is faster

thanks for the posts. if anyone else has any more info on gaming that would be great.
