Been bugging me for a while but I just normally get fed up and turn it all the way off. Where do you turn off security center alerts individually instead of turning the whole thing off? I just want it to ignore the state of UAC but not A/V state or windows updates etc.

UAC controls are not in the sec center, you need to run msconfig then go to the tools tab and UAC controls are in there

Sorry I wasn't clear, posting from phone, dont want to type too much. I've already turned UAC off. I just want Security Center to stop warning of that, but not stop warning of everything else, which prohibits turning it (security center) all the way off.

Don't turn UAC off.

Also, use the "Change the way Security Center alerts me" link in the Security Center.

In Security Centre there's an option 'change the way SC notifies me'. That should let you turn off the notification. Why have you turned it off though?

Yeah I know about the "change the way it alerts me" method. But that method is the one I was referring to when I said I didn't want to turn off ALL security center alerts. Changing it here is a global policy change that cannot be itemized to only disabling the warning me of UAC status but nothing else.

Ah OK. You can do it via the registry if you don't mind doing that. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security Center, create a new DWORD called UacDisableNotify with a value of 1. Reboot.

I could have sworn you could pick each thing individually to notify you or not without going through the registry.
