vista screen saver not working

the screen saver in vista just won't go into effect. i set it up at 10 mintues and half an hour later it would still display my desktop. i have tried just about anything to get it to work but it wouldn't work...a really werid problem

any idea

I have had past peoblems with the screensavers on different levels. If it quits working, I switch it over to another saver for a few minutes and switch it back to the one I wish to restore. Only happens on occasions, but this has worked well for me so far.
