Im going to be installing Vista Ultimate 64 bit next week, and how will this effect my current storage drives, I have 1 external and 2 internal storage drives with music, movies, pics, pr0n. I noticed there are hidden files on those storage drives from XP, recycler, system volume information, etc. What will happen when I connect the storage drives to a Vista OS from XP without formatting them. Just to be clear I will be installing Vista to my main boot/game drive from a clean format, and the storage drives I will connect once Vista is up and running.

Someone else probably knows for sure, but I read Vista will remove system restore (and I guess recycle) data, but the data on the drives will be accessible in vista, then in XP if you move it back. EFS keys do not transfer (from my experience).

You are correct in disconnecting the data drives until Vista is up and running. You won't have any issues once you do connect those drives again, and you can always use the MMC > Disk Management to set the drive letters as you wish.

Didnt want to start another Vista Thread. I apologize if I should start a new one. Just trying to keep it clean here. Plus, its a Vista question.

I know about the 3.5 of 4GB of RAM showing with Vista 32. All I really want to know is there a big difference between 32 & 64? All I really do is play a FPS game. I do play many hours a day though. I have a Dual Core CPU. I have 4GB of RAM. A mobo that holds up to 8GB of RAM. Dont know if this little info helps with an answer. If there is a huge difference, will I be alright with gaming for now? Plus, I snagged Vista Ultimate for $50. JYEAH! Thanks for the help!

1) There is a difference
2) It's not a good idea to high-jack other people's threads.
